20 Week Ultrasound
What a day. Today was the 20 Week ultrasound. This one was special. They went over the kids from head to toe, measuring each limb and organ, checking the brain and heart. We came back with a clean bill of health for both. Both are 11 ounces, which is great for twins. Normally I guess you’ll see one smaller then the other.
The best part of all was finding out the genders of our little ones. The radiologist took what seemed like 5 seconds of looking and knew the genders of both right away. I missed it completly. Kam however, caught on right away and knew what each one was from looking too. One of each! Boy and a Girl. Couldn’t of asked for more. It’s what we were hopeing for the most.
I was so excited througout the whole thing. Couldn’t stop shaking my legs. So afterwords, we both went back to work to a long afternoon.
Coming home, the first thing we did was call my Mom and Sister to tell them the news. We’re being a little bit mean and are saving telling everyone the names to keep something a surprize though.
After we got off the phone, we took a quick trip out to Carters to buy our first gender specific outfits. Everything so far has been either green/white/yellow. While at the store I nearly lost it, thinking about my future little girl. I never really figured out what my friends at work meant when they kept telling me that girls are the best. No way I thought, I want a playmate, a little buddy. Now I get it. I get to have a little version of my wife. That seems like the end of all things to me. I can’t wait.
Not to say that I’m not excited about my boy either. We’re going to be the bestest of friends. I’ll have a permant video game buddy. How will I find the time. Between the two of them, I can’t wait to give them the world, and more.
Right after this post I’ll be uploading the latest ultrasound photos. The A photos are my girl, and the B photos are my boy.
Next appointment is in 3 weeks. I think it’s just a checkup. Then pretty soon we’ll be getting weekly ones. Feels like they are going to be here in no time; and as far as I’m concerned, not soon enough.
