Well it’s official. No more work for Kamie. As of 9:45 today there will be no more work until at least 6 weeks after delivery which we are still hoping will be around 37 weeks but the immediate goal is to make it the almost 2 more weeks to 34 weeks.
There’s nothing new really else to report though, the babies looked good-still in the same spots. Dr. didn’t say what I was measuring and I felt silly if I asked, so I didn’t and I was thinking about all the things I needed to take care of when I got back to work. Thankfully this is just a non-work, less stress, less movement but not bed-stricken bedrest. Basically a more relaxed, sedentary period where I can lie down on the couch if I start having 6 contractions in an hour and where widgets aren’t counted and goals to have met, ect.
The babies have become extremely active lately always moving around and kicking, punching me. I like to think they are playing with each other as well. When we watched In the Womb:Multiples on National Geographic a month or so back, they talked and showed the playful peeking thru the amniotic sacs that wouuld happen in the womb and afterwards then when they grew up they might play on opposite sides of a hung sheet-reverting back to the womb. James mentioned how he can’t wait to see them, and among other things-see if they do play like that with the sheet.
I’m a bit anxious, nevervous, restless all tied into one about being off work. I do have the baby blankets to finish up, but with the wrist pain I’ve been having it’s been quite hard to move my wrist that way as of lately. I’ll be able to easily without stress get the birth announcements done. I’ve been doing a little here and a little there, but now I can do them whenever I feel up to it during the day. I’ll be able to brush up on my photography skills.

Even though we are due for our next appointment in 17 hours, I thought I should update on our last weeks appointment quickly.
It was another uneventful appointment. Measuring 38cm, that’s up 2cm from two weeks ago. I’ve decided just before that appointment to use some time I have coming to me to work a half day once week thru the anticipated bedrest date and the Dr. agreed this sounded like a good idea. I took the first section of time last Friday and was really glad I did. I ended up taking a 2 hour nap.
Babies are both doing well, and just doing everything we can to make it to the 34 week mark now. Our OB/GYN will be on vacation all next week, so the babies need to stay put and have no troubles then. Though we will see someone else that week, not only do we want them to behave because it’s a week before 34, but also because it’d be great for *our* Dr. to deliver the babies.
Had a good weekend last weekend, it was a *really* lovely weather weekend. Went to a few rummage sales and picked up some things for when the kids are older. A booster chair $2, a suction sitting bath chair $1, a Weeble house with accessories/Weebles $5, and two bikes-one James had as a kid but the wooden version $1and then another that converts from walking to a bike $3.
Having a touch of trouble with contractions again, which may or may not result in a modified bedrest earlier than the anticipated May 18th. Especially the last two days have been a bit more than ‘allowed’. I’m having between 5/6 an hour most hours, with a few fours at work and more threes at home than anything else. I’m pretty sure though I have been having a few ‘real’ contractions. There is also the fear of too many practice (Braxton Hicks) will cause dialiation so we’ll just have to watch it. James has been really wonderful this week with the contractions, he cooked dinner the last two nights and we went walking on Tuesday to try to get some comfort. The ones I’ve had previously were localized pretty much over baby boys head, these are all over and slightly painful at times.
We picked up our ‘dinners’ I posted about my scrapbooking friends getting for us. We placed the order on Saturday and picked them up on Monday. They look awesome, smell great and are looking forward to having them when needed.
32 Weeks 1 Day - From this point on the twins will start developing differently from a singleton pregnancy in that there isn’t much room for them to grow anymore. Hopefully over the next four weeks they’ll grow to be just over 5lbs each (if given the chance).
So I’ll update this weekend with the news from our appointment tomorrow. Hopefully everythings good and dandy. I have a feeling I’ll be off work from here on out.
