happiness and 5 months old
We went to see Grandpa Mitch and Grandma Pam two weeks ago Friday, I can not explain how really wonderful it was to see them, and I’m sure that Pam knows why it was extra wonderful to see my Dad. They are really good to us, we got a basket full of goodies for our anniversary, James got a birthday cake and card-I think he went to poker Tuesday with his gift and came back with more $. Then they also picked up diapers and wipes for the kids when James and Pam ran to the store. Will see them again on the 22nd for Thanksgiving.
I have uploaded a video that I have of my Dad playing peek-a-boo with Evelyn. It is just the most adorable thing in the world. She laughs and laughs…. I’d been trying without much success to get them to laugh and had sort of gotten one out of the two the day before… but nothing how Dad got her going. James likes to be flown in the air… like a rocket blasting off your shin. We missed getting the video of him going crazy with laughter the other night.
There is one of James playing peek-a-boo with them too and one of lil man James being tickled by Daddy… with of all things a pull toy that vibrates. Silly little man… gotta love him though. Evelyn also makes her debut with growling, barking and talking. Of course, James also has a few talking videos too.
We are having more visitors. This weekend Uncle Karl & Aunt Shelia are coming from Canada. They came down in July of 2005 for a visit with Uncle Ron and Aunt Jo-Anne so it’ll be good to see them again as we haven’t since. Should be a really nice visit. We are hoping to make a trip back to Canada sometime the week before Christmas this year.
We’ll see though, since we had to reshingle our roof last month and then took our car in for an oil change and ended up needing an expensive air filter replaced & new back brakes on our car.
Since I last posted Evelyn has rolled to her side, they both are SO close to going all the way over but not quite yet. James LOVES our kitty Sampson. He will stare at him and watch him go from this place to that place. He is still on his reflux medication. We are instructed to try to wean him from it when he runs out-but he appears at this stage to still need it. Poor little guy. So I’m picking up a refill today. Maybe in the months time it’ll get better.
James enjoys his rice cereal and oatmeal cereal, he also likes carrots, peaches, apples and bananas. Peas get spit right back out. Evelyn isn’t a fan still of the rice cereal, she did better when I mixed it with expressed milk, or the carrots. She seems to prefer the oatmeal I think. She also didn’t like peas. But did eat better with the peaches, and bananas. She gobbled up the apples. She also does better at the evening ‘meal’. James gobbles it all up, he gets quite frustrated when he isn’t fed quickly enough
Last night Evelyn started to get a little upset waiting also. May need to try to stager the feed a little.
Next is green beans, sweet potatoes, pears and squash. I got their food on sale, an awesome sale back about three months ago. I got around 250-275 jars/containers of baby food split among the 3 stages, for like $10 so hopefully we won’t have to buy much at full price… had planned on making our own so might do that if/when it comes to that.
Started giving them their sippy cups with just a dash of water in it, so they are playing around with those while I make them their cereal. Soon we’ll try it with juice, not for another month though, it’s not for babies under 6 months of age. Except our Peditrican said we can give prune juice for constipation, which knock on wood we haven’t needed.
Anyhow-I uploaded some more videos, about 12 or 13 last night, and started on some photos, got about half done, but finished up the rest just now….so, ENJOY!
