We’ve been thinking about getting rid of the gallery on here, and just going to my Flickr account. For now, I’m just posting photos there, almost daily; Photos of the kids.
The kids are going too quickly. They change everyday. I think they have officially crossed from babies, to toddlers. I never used the word babies but I’ve actually found myself saying it lately-maybe trying to hold onto that stage.
James is making strides in signing things. It’s crazy, two new ones. I’m not sure he knows exactally what they mean quite yet, as sometimes he does them all when he really just wants a drink. So I think we shall work on drink next. He already knew Eat and uses it.

Evelyn is our talker, a day or two later and James is usually saying some sort of simillar word(s). Her most recent is ‘good girl’. She will repeat it over and over and over again. James started in with just ‘good, good, good, good, good, good….’, ending sometimes with girl. I’ve been trying to get boy in there but neither seems interested.
Evelyn is learning when to say ‘thank you’, both the kids say it, but more random then specific, but lately she’s been either by fluke saying it when she is meant to or she is grasping it.
They are starting to play together, it’s adorable. James loves Evelyn - sometimes in a good loving brother way and other times he’s being a boy, a toddler, a lil man in training. Lately, they will take turns chasing each other around. Laughing and laughing at each other. They especially like to hide behind the curtains in the kitchen and giggle at the other. Evelyn loves her brother, just not always what he does to her. Sitting on her, pushing up against her with his bum (I swear this is a sign of affection from him, though I bet he likes the squeals from Evelyn too).
A few days ago I caught them sitting next to each other cute as could be looking at the other-both legs extended on the floor swishing them back and forth - err- together and apart I guess is more accurate.
Sunday I cut out the very last nursing session with the kids. I’m sad but I am also enjoying the freedom in other ways. Evelyn wasn’t too pleased but she’s getting adjusted to it. She threw her cup at me several times, and shoved away from me others. She keeps trying to get my shirt down/off, but that’ll pass.
We offically made it 14 Months & 1 Week, no small accomplishment. Tandem all the way.
James has his first freckle/mole, which is adorable. It’s almost in the exact same spot as Cindy Crawfords, but much smaller
We are welcoming guests tomorrow, James’ Aunt Melba, and Aunt Mary & Uncle John are arriving from Louisiana via Canada. This’ll be Melbas first time meeting the kids, Mary & John came last year when the kids were only a few months old.
Unknown to me, James has figured out that the smaller bouncy ball we have makes a great toy, by bouncing on it. I tried to get it on camera, but he knows what the camera is and he only wants to touch it. Video or photo. We have to be pretty sneaky. I totally need ot get some videos edited.
There are just not enough hours in the day sometimes.
Life is good.
The kids are gorgeous.
We are all healthy & happy.
Good times.

I’ve been noticing things lately with the kids.
Like perhaps they may be starting up their own ‘twin’ talk. Which apparently is a myth, though they are isolated quite a bit, and haven’t socialized with other kids too often yet. I gues it’s more common in those situations. Likely more it’s just that they respond to their babbles because they are famillar with them, being they are hearing/learning them at the same time versus an older child/toddler.
None the less, they do seem to understand each other and babble back and forth. Evelyn is really starting to jabber up a wall. She’s almost non-stop sometimes.
They are learning so quickly now it seems.
says;
Thank you

First off;
Happy Birthday to my Mother-in-Law yesterday!
I had started this yesterday, but never got to publishing it.
The kids are so adorable. They are like little sponges lately, absorbing every thing you do or say and don’t do or don’t say.
They are talking more and more everyday, and understanding the things we say too.
Last night Evelyn clearly said Thank You several times, and this morning James said Done to me, when he was done eating breakfast, and yesterday he said Bye-bye I’m 99% sure.
They are starting to pretend play, which is super fun, they copy us. Especially if they get ahold of a wipe, they try to wipe everything they can think of. The wipes container, the floor (perhaps they remember our MANY times of wiping up spit-up (like 20 a day) from when James was), or they wash momma or daddy off. It’s cute.
I got a kiss from my son yesterday, twice upon my request. He runs from Daddy when he tries to give him one
Evelyn however dishes them out to Daddy quite frequently and Momma gets little to no love from her. I get hugs.
I took Evelyn to the waterpark the other day here, I have been wanting to take them but I’m afraid to take them both together. So I tried out our splash pad at the city park and they didn’t really like it the first time, and the second time went better but I still wanted to let them go water where they’d be submerged and float.
I wasn’t sure how to pick who went first, but in the end James & I picked Evelyn as she is less squirmy and is more clingy whereas James tends to be more bouncy and just higher energy in general that being my first time at the park also I wanted a low key time.
Evelyn clung to me when we got there, but she warmed up after I splashed around. She wandered here and there, and enjoyed being weightless though I didn’t go deep enough to stand with her, so it was difficult to hold her and float her while sitting.
Will pick a day to go with James next.
Next year I think I can handle them both, and they’ll really love the splash pad too, which is zero depth.
I’m really hoping to upload some photos of the kids today, tonight. Worst case, tomorrow night. Photos have been hit and miss with them lately, most times they aren’t interested in looking at me. Or they have a sippy cup in their mouth.
James yells a lot, not like full on screaming, but he just stops sometimes and squeal yells, and makes little dee doo de do di di di type noises or he goes Oooh. ooooh. oooh. It’s so cute, he usually does this with a bounce, or by stepping his feet up and down left right, left right, left right, left right. Sometimes he shakes his head in there, sometiems he doesn’t.
He is ADORABLE when he plays catch. He runs with his hands behind him, and spins in circles. The way he throws the ball is too cute too, he drops it and then brings his hands up and the same time to hit it forward. I must catch it on film.
Evelyn is getting some attitude if a 13 month old can have such. She’s starting to get back at her brother though. She is bigger, height wise a least. I thought I noticed a difference in them, so I measured her against the measurement we took on their birthday, sure enough she’s got about another 1/4 an inch to half inch.
James is pretty tiny for his age on average, being in the lower 10% or under in growth charts.
Anyhow, Evelyn has started to pull on James’ hair and push him down, pull him back, ect. Now, he’s done such things to her for sometime… mainly the pushing and pulling.
They were sharing blueberries at breakfast the other morning, passing between them, eating it then giving another. It was super cute.
I never can remember all the things I want to blog about, maybe because I wait so long in between blogging.
One last thing;
Jean, incoming co-president (and link on the left of Callaway Monkeys) started making barrettes as a fundrasier for the group, I’ve joined her in making them, it’s a LOT of fun.
Check out our new shop, to see what we’ve been making. They are super cute.
