Don’t do it.
I’ve discovered I must be careful with my words, James has started to say “Don’t do it” over and over and over again. Oops. He also likes to say “right now” and “no, no, no, no, no, no, no” all with cute little pointed fingers (this he did not learn from me).
Evelyn can point to items in a book, she knows where the kitty is in several books, and when she asks what body part is in the book, she’ll point to that part on her own body then too. James knows where bunny is and lion in several books.
They love puzzles, my gosh and already can get the pieces into their one puzzle with just three parts, a tree, a house and a car. We have 3 more for xmas, and one we bring out just to play with them with that has like 10 animals on it I think. We then got them these other ones that you match the item with, like one side has a soft fur on it, and that goes with the mole or something like that. Rough is with the alligator I think and so on.
James has been going up the stairs like a big boy for quite some time (Standing and lifting his knees high = not crawling) the last week he’s been waiting for mom or dad’s hand to walk Down them like a big boy (instead of on his bum). Today I offered my hand and he refused, so I said “OK, sit then, time to go downstairs”. and he proceeded to walk closer and closer to the edge and try to find his way down with one leg. He grabbed onto the wall and off he went all the way down the stairs.
We think James might have another allergy, we are thinking eggs. (He’s allergic to peanuts we think also, so we stopped giving them to either he nor Evelyn until we see our Dr. next month). I thought it might be dogs, as we’d been at a playdate not a half hour earlier where dogs lived (3 actually) but we are thinking more likely eggs since I discovered we were using Mayo not Miracle Whip which would have eggs and he has had this happen previously with Toaster Scrambles with eggs.
They’ll be going in for their 18 month check-ups in a few weeks, so we’ll talk to the peditrican about it then. I’m really interested to see their new stats (weight, height). It’ll be time for us to mark on our wall again too, what their heights are. James seems to have surpassed Evelyn in height and weight now so I’m really curious to see where his %s fall since he’s always been really low in comparrison to kids his age.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving Day with my Dad, Pam, my Uncle Dennis-Aunt Judy and cousin Kevin and Pam’s daughter Kelsey and her friend. Later Pam’s son Spencer was home, and sister Linda stopped by. It was a really lovely day.
James however decided he wasn’t sleeping on the way there, he wasn’t upset at any point during the hour and a half drive. I think he’s liking having his carseat forward facing. Yes, I finally gave in to that. I didn’t want to until they reached the limits of the carseat, where we were forced to turn them around - it much safer. But their legs are getting longer and they look scrunched up. So James was happy to just sit and watch everything. This however did mean we went for a drive later so he could sleep. We hadn’t brought our pack n play since we expected them to sleep on the way there.
Dad and Pam got the kids their very own crocstyle shoes, they are so adorable. James ended up wearing Evelyns home (we’d put his in the car already because he’d had on a different pair of shoes during the day and she had hers put on when we took off her boots that were harder to walk in all day) but he wore hers because his shoes wouldn’t fit over his PJs.
Till next time
