they are in cahoots!

The kids have taken over… haha.
I think they are working together these days to try to break down the parental units or something. Evelyn though sweet as can be is quite sassy sometimes, especially if she wants something. She’s definately in the “mine, mine, mine” stage. She’s started fake biting-it’s this crazy thing where you can see her starting to get upset and then all of a sudden she shakes her head back and forth with her mouth open - honestly-not to be mean, but I think it’s pretty comparable to what a dog does when they are playing with a chew toy.
Usually she only does this to toys, that most often her brother is trying to take away (because he’s at the stage where every toy she has is the toy he must play with and no other toy will do). However, she has gotten Daddy once or twice and Momma too.
As I was saying, James thinks all the toys are his that Evelyn touches.
He’s quite mean to her cabbage patch doll. Slamming her on the floor, and he really really hates that she has shoes on-so he always removes them if he spots her with them on (the doll, not Evelyn, though if Evelyn has shoes on he requires shoes and please, please don’t remove them or you will hear screams of bloody murder which is not often heard from James).
James is a bit of a loner, independant player. This isn’t horrible, but we do want to be sure he’ll play with other kids properly too
Evelyn has figured out where the food is stored and will often while I’m cooking try to find herself something-she’s a grazer, but eats well at mealtime too.
James is sick again ![]()
Saturday afternoon he started having some diaper issues, and Sunday it got worse. Monday morning I went to get them at 9am, they usually sleep till around that time normally on Mondays, sometimes 8:30. So I wasn’t overly concerned. He wouldn’t get up. He’s always jumping up and down and squealing. He didn’t move at all, just his breaths. He was limp when I picked him up. Got him changed, and put him down, hoping maybe he’d hold his weight, nope. Fell over and laid down.
Rushed down to the computer to message James, to ask him if I was overreacting that something wasn’t right
I do admit I tend to do this. Nope, he agreed and I called the Peditrican. They said to bring him in right away. I love the kids Peditrican, but sometimes I dislike the nurses that I get when I call in. THey make it seem like there is trouble, or could be and then usually the Peditrican doesn’t even seem mildly concenered with what I called about.
In the end, James perked up by the end of the appointment. Daddy James was so worried he met us at the Dr office, which was nice since I hadn’t even fed the kids, or given them their sippy cups so Evelyn was needier (I did bring the cups and snacks for them/her but still). This is some sorta bug, that’s going around-it was supposed to last like 24 more hours, and then maybe he’d feel better a day or two, and feel sick again.
So yep, yesterday was a good day, no issues, he went 24 hours exactally without any troubles. Then all of a sudden he wouldn’t eat (he’d been all day) and had a massive diaper issue which resulted in just throwing away the clothes he was wearing and a bath.
He was up many times thru the night-but this morning he was doing OK. Stopped with the milk again, to be softer on his tummy and he’s eating a little bit again.
*knock* on wood, dear sweet Evelyn nor Daddy or I have gotten sick - yet.
Evelyn got her second flu shot last week, James can’t have the flu shot because of his (at least at this point) allergy to egg - he’s also allergic to peanut butter.
The kids are super interested in running and bouncing and crawling and going all crazy on the couches lately. At first we tried to stop it, sit down please, ect. Then we let it go all that came out our mouths was that. They are good about it, and when they get to excited, they do get down and they know they are staying down.
The kids treated me to sleeping in this morning, almost 10am!!! But, I had to pay a price for it…. while I think James might finally be feeling better-I hope. He had however a lovely present for me in his crib this morning, which required a bath and some laundry. Thankful though that it wasn’t horrible like the last week. Blech.
Right now I’m waiting for the title company to call me. I’ve been waiting all day. I need to get out of the house, this week of sickos and crabby kids and the prior weeks of cold weather are driving me batty! I need to see the sunlight for more than the minute it takes me to get the mail.
We are going out next week. On a side note, wHen we took lil man to the Drs on Monday he’d gained a pound in the last month and a week! Crazy lil man!
Today we went to the Children’s Museum, the kids love it there-though the first time we went with our membership we all got sick. Hopefully we won’t have anyone sick with this trip, being lil man finally is feeling better.
I wanted to share my vinyl wall cling I finally finished. I was able to make it with my birthday present from James, and Christmas present from Dad & Pam. I love it! It’s about 6/7 inches tall and about 14/15 wide (estimate).
OK, I want to get this posted, so I’ll leave with a few of my recent favorite photos.

Sampson must be starting to like Evelyn a bit more- though I suppose anyone would eventually give in to such a cute lil girl hugging (make that laying on) you. She really thinks she owns him.

James answer “I don’t know” and shrugging his shoulders.

Our budding photographers- love how lil man James can be seen behind, also camera around neck, but with a bounce in his step

The kids rearranged the furniture one day while I was in the kitchen, and they were in the living room-literally 10 feet from me. I never heard a peep from the moving or them.

CAUGHT!!! Evelyn and James, though honeslty I think it was Evelyn who got it down as she’d grabbed some other thing off the counter earlier I was making-that she knew better. However. I ran down stairs for a minute, and got a phone call while I was there. So I was gone like 3 minutes. Came back to that. That’s white chocolate bark they are munching on.
Well, James just plopped in Bangkok Dangerous for us to watch so I”m outta here.
