~ Update ~
March 25th, 2009
The kids are 21 1/1 months old and we’ve been upto a few things since my last post.
I took the kids and went to visit their Roxanne, Doug & Caitlin with a pit stop to see the kids Great Aunt Carlyn & Kristin. We had a great day. I got to see the town I grew up in that I hadn’t been to since 2003 when my Grandma (Nan) passed away. Not much changed, I mean, the buildings all aged of course… that has to happen. I ran into an old schoolmate, just one while we ate in Antigo and then headed onto Roxanne’s house.
I enjoyed the time, and hope to get back to spend a bit longer with them, and perhaps see a few old friends from high school. It’s coming up on what would have been my 10 year high school graduation had I actually graduated with my class ( I got my HSED in 2001 instead of graduating in 1999 with them, instead I married James :)) . With Facebook I’ve come back into contact with some so that’s been nice.
We all got touched by the sickies then, not too horrible, but a cold which has lingered and lingered. I’m still trying to get mine all the way gone. I think James brought it home from work. We took the kiddos to the YMCA pool which they rather loved! I’ve been prepped for my crown-blech! I get that finished up next week.
Seems this has been a really busy month for us, this past weekend we went to see Grandpa Mitch & Grandma Pam. The kids took their first nap away from home there, yipee! We just don’t go places enough to give them the chance. They sleep in the car for naps sometimes, like driving - though they didn’t this time. The only other time we’ve been somewhere overnight was when they were 6 months old and we went back to Canada, and at that time we were still ‘nap nursing’.
Yesterday I took James to the peditrican. He’d been having some diaper issues that despite our attempts weren’t changing anything…. and it was time to get medical direction (read that a Dr to tell us how much and what to give him). So we’ve started him on Miralax, he’s only had it twice so far as I read this, but hopefully this does the trick.
The Dr thought perhaps that James isn’t wanting to go anymore in his diaper, and that could be why he’s sorta, holding onto it… for lack of a better way to say it. Which sorta makes sense. He’s been intersted… so I guess I’ll make a better effort to get them on the potty. Evelyn was really interested and goes thru spurts. She has yet to actually go on the potty though.
I was looking thru the old photos site - which you can still access here and came across some favorites! OMG, our kids used to be so tiny. James was upto 29 lbs at the Drs office last night-he had just eaten and was fully clothed whereas his previous appointments are right in the morning, without clothes/diaper. So I mean, maybe a lb difference then. He’s surely eating OK! Hehe.
The kids are developing their own personalities, which is fun and difficult! They are quite persistant in their actions sometimes, they understand what is being said to them, but can’t seem to help themselves. They are most horrible when I run to the bathroom or like to switch clothes or whatever, and leave them alone. Lol
James is just a ham! He’s just… James. He’s a dance machine, goofball crazy lil guy. He’s a cuddler, loves to sit by you and watch TV or on your lap if your playing Wii. He’s very technical and mechanical you can just see gears turning as he does any sort of task.
Evelyn is just a sweetie-pie, until!! she’s tired. SHe’s quite specific about how she sits and how things happen. SHe needs thinsg to be in a certain way, like the closet door isnt’ supposed to be open so she freaks out if it is, or the button she just undid HAS to be redone. Shoes have to come off when we come in (which is what we want anyhow) but she’ll freak out if say groceries come in first, and if I take hers off she’ll got and start to try to take off James’ (who LOVES to wear shoes and has a bit of a freak out when they come off).
I’ve gotten a TON of commments, almost everytime I am out with Evelyn about her hair.

People seem to love the natural ‘bob’ that’s formed. She could do with a bang trimming… soon.

James is in LOVE with this truck. He’s been bringing it everywhere around the house, but to our most upstair level. But he takes it to the dinner table, upstairs, downstairs, he throws it down teh stairs or drags it up, one step at a time. It ‘watches’ him as he eats, and drinks, and he tries to juggle it and his cup.

Silly, goofy, crazy. James. WIth the music he is hillarious. It’s crazy how in tune he is with the beat and rythm and how he changes how he dances as it does. I love to watch him.
Toodles!
