After James starting to feel better, and then Evelyn taking a turn, having a good day then, followed by another 3 days of bad. I’m tired! This momma is tired! 10 days of sickies is enough!
So today, Evelyn is doing much, much better. She’s a bit crabby, but I think James got her up early, and she’s been upset when we change her diaper lately. Tomorrow I’m going to try the potty training thing again-not sure if that’s her issue, or if she’s just sore from all the wiping/dirty diaper stuff from being sick. She certainly has hit the milestones for ‘is she ready’. So we’ll see. That doesn’t mean she is ready…for sure.
Saturday we had our first swim lesson. Evelyn woke up seeming good, so we went.
She was a bit harder to get into the lesson, so I think she might not have been totally herself (especially not since we are just getting back to normal today).
James really did well! He was floating on my shoulder, kicking his legs and would paddle towards a toy. I’m not sure they ‘got’ the singing part-but I think it was more just odd for them, first time and all. Can’t wait to go back this Saturday-Evelyn LOVES the water, so I hope she does better with feeling better.
So, most our time has been spent at home, doing nothign but having a baby in our laps, lifeless.
We did play outside on Friday night, Evelyn must have had a burst of feel good-and asked after being in my lap 95% of the day already, to go outside. So we did.
Here are some photos of our BEAUTIFUL night outside Friday.
James LOVED to explore!

1 1/2 months and the kids will be 2 years old. It’s crazy to think of, yet they are certainly more grown up these days. I’ve picked a theme for their party, which will be smaller this year and date is yet to be determined but I’m excited about it. I hope they are able to recognize it and get excited.
We had a good Easter, we went to my Dad & Pam’s and had a yummy meal. The kids have napped there two times now, which is good. They cry a little at first, but it’s a new space. They’ve stopped napping on the drive there. They didn’t on this past trip, the ride home either, though we did leave earlier than bedtime as we had to do the “easter bunny” thing yet at home, and James needed to call his mom and neice Abby who’s birthday it was. Plus some household ‘Sunday’ chores.

James LOVED the pinwheel that the Easter Bunny brought. He’s such a ham, he’s just a silly goofy but serious lil guy. He’s SO independant too. It scares me. I asked about it first to Daddy James, then to some friends-because he plays alone, like 90% of the time. He will play with you for a few minutes, but then he’s off playing alone, with a new toy. He then comes around for giggles and playing again, and hugs & kisses or sitting on your lap or whatever, but mostly he plays alone or with Evelyn.
Evelyn has a bit of sass to her-it’s cute actually sometimes. But not really. But she is totally sweet and she and everyone knows it. And if they don’t then she shows them just how cute she can be, she’s a pleaser really, making sweet faces and smiles at people. James likes to hide behind his hand
The last few days James has been sick. He started acting weird after we were at the YMCA on Monday, on the soccer field. Sure enough, woke up from nap with a fever. He kept that thru the night and then Tuesday he started having diaper issues, and more fever. It’s Wednesday morning now and hoping he’s feeling better this morning, but they are still asleep. We did change him thru the night once. xx fingers xx that today is a relaxing just regroup day for him. It’s so hard to see him, of all people not himself. He’s just a bouncy guy otherwise and he’s just limp now. He did perk up a bit last night, and had some cereal… but then it was right back to a fever and diaper related issues.
James has been doing well on the Miralax once a day, 1/2 a doseage. So that’s good. It does end up being a bit too the other direction more than I’d prefer sometimes, but better than what was happening and hopefully it’s temporary.

Curlers for Easter

Sweet Boy

We are gearing up for swim lessons on Saturday with the kids. It’s a parent child class, so we’ll each go with one kiddo. I’m excited, I love the water and both the kids are into it too. Though Evelyn likes to do it all herself including walking as far out as I’ll allow before scooping her up and then she screams. James likes to watch and wander and the falling water too.
Daddy James & I are excited to be going to see a show in a few weeks. We watch this TV show, Ace of Cakes-they did a cake on there for this puppet show- Avenue Q. They are coming to a local arts center in May. SO excited. Dad & Pam are going to watch J&E, so that’s exciting. I’m really, really looking forward to it. Feel bad that the show is on Pams’ birthday and the day before Mother’s Day though.
Leaving you with some of my favorite photos of lately.
