Allergist Results
James saw the allergist this morning. They did two group tests on him, each having 6 things to check if he was allergic to. The first was the top 6 things people are usually allergic to, and the other was to include cats-as his skin was horrible and he’s all itchy, along with a bunch of other animals as they were in the same dip thingy.
James is allergic to 3 things. We thought he was allergic to Eggs & Peanuts. He’s not allergic to eggs at all. But, he is allergic to Peanuts, to a +4, which is the most severe. He can’t have anything with peanuts, derived from peanuts, or processed anywhere near peanuts.
He’s also a +2, medium stage allergic to wheat & milk.
He has to stop drinking cow’s milk now, and will be on soymilk.
We’ll revisit her in 3 weeks.
He also has a pretty bad case of excema at the moment. I’ve never felt like a worse mother than to show up with him having itched himself and be covered in scratches. She gave us some medication to help with the itching (an oral thing) and some cream for the actual areas.
The likelyhood of him outgrowing the peanut thing is very, very low. She could only recall one case of hers that she saw someone who was a 4+ who is now, 4 years later a 2+ which is still obviously as you can tell with James and the soymilk vs cows milk, still something you avoid.
As far as the wheat we’ll have to avoid it whenever possible. Milk and wheat would be more likely to be outgrow-able, but time will tell on all of them.
We were gearing up for the kids party this weekend, but the guests are dwindling. Not sure it’ll happen at all.
I guess it makes the rest of my week a bit easier if I Don’t have to make sure my house is spic and span and get things ready and cooked for 15+ ppl, right?
The kids haven’t been feeling well either though, James seemed to have a fever on Saturday and yesterday Evelyn spiked one. James started coughing quite a bit yesterday and today is better… but deeper.
