Growth/Development Timeline

3 Years:

James:
33 1/2 lbs 60%
36 3/4 inches 50%

Evelyn:
28 lbs 25%
36.5 inches 40%

They both got shots, though weren’t meant to. It seems E is having a reaction. Of course.
Debating putting James back on Gluten-free

We saw the allergist earlier this year and James is no longer ’skin-prick’ allergic to milk or wheat but is now allergic worse to Peanuts and also almonds and walnuts. We transitioned him off rice milk for a month, and then off wheat/gluten. It’s been a month-ish (May-early July) since he’s been back on gluten and he’s starting to have issues creep in. This is common/normal for there to need to be a ‘build-up’ first. I’m not sure why this happens, but we are back to where we were before we went gluten free. Our Dr was supportive of whatever we wanted to do, suggesting perhaps going off it till James is old enough (as we were thinking before the endo) to truly tell us what’s up. Or he was worried it was also behavioural - but his pull-up messes aren’t something he controls. His choice of food, mannerisms certainly are choices. So I dunno. Chewing on it.

2 Years:

James:
28 1/2 pounds - 60%
34″ tall - 40%
48cm head - 30%

James is being referred to an allergist for his reactions to egg and peanut butter, so we can find out what’s going on and how serious it might turn based on his reactions to any tests they might do.

Evelyn:
27 pounds - 60%
33 3/4 ” tall - 60%
49cm head - 90%

Her noggin is big in comparison to other girls her age, and she still has a ‘dent’ or ‘crater’. Though her head is shaping out better, it is a wonder if this part will forever stay.

21 months:

Took James in for some diaper issues. Started him on Miralax. Asked about the hives situation we had and Dr thought it was cross contamination. I didn’t mention (I forgot) that no reaction that bad had happened with straight peanut butter before… but seems just something egg or peanut we need to be a bit more aware off.

His weight : 29 lbs
Though he was in clothes, at 6pm at night having just ate dinner whereas his other appoitnments were am, little food, naked.

18 Months:

Let’s do James first.
Weight- 25 lb 4 oz - 25%
Height- 31 1/2 inches - 25% (I think this is wrong, he’s clearly taller than Evelyn by at least a 1/4 an inch-1/2 an inch. We measured them on the wall that night and that’s where he’s at…ah well)
Head Cricumfrence - 46.8 - 20%

He is still small compared to babies his age, but he’s on the right track as far as a trend of growth, he’s consistantly growing. The % means that like for 25% that would mean in theroy 75% of babies are bigger than he is in that area.

It seems confirmed that James at least for now, is allergic to peanut butter & eggs (depending on what medium they are given to him in). So for fear of having a bad reaction, he wasn’t able to get the flu shot and the Dr advised us to remove Peanut butter from the house so no one gives it to him accidently. I tried almond butter and they seem to like that.

Now lil Miss Evelyn.

Weight - 23 lbs 6 oz - 40%
Height - 32 inches - 60% again I think this is wrong
Head Circumference - 47.0 - 60%

Evelyns plagio & brachiocephly are still present, this might be something (and likely will) that never fully goes away and the process of seeing any changes will be *very* slow. But her soft spot is still open, and so the concern for cranio has passed.

James had noticed in some photographs a sort of ‘lazy eye’ for lack of a better term, we are watching it (under direction of how to from our peditrican) and will present any photos of the findings to him at our next visit. She would need to see a Pediatric Optometrist or is it Ophthalmologist… . I guess the process is *very* technical, and involves some prisms and such… and so xx fingers xx that it is just a random thing.

Evelyn got the flu shot. Whew! No more shots (well Evelyn needs another part of the flu shot in 4 weeks, but after that) until they are 4 for kindergarten!! INSANE I must say to think of them being in school.

14 Months 1 Week:

We stop nursing. We had cut out one, and then two sessions around a month ago.

———————————————————

12 Months 1 Day:

James - 21lbs 3oz | 28 1/4 inches
Evelyn - 20lbs 10oz | 29 inches

We can start on whole milk now and add peanut butter and eggs.
We gave them eggs on their birthday(06/08/08) , and peanut butter the day after, the day of this appointment. They aren’t keen on the eggs, but peanut butter toast was good.
They are having whole milk for the first time 06/11/08.

The kids average schedule is getting up between 6:30 & 7:30, usually by 7am though. Then they are ready for a nap by 9/9:45am, which lasts 1 1/2-2 hours on average. They sometimes take a shorter nap in the afternoon then, around 3pm but not much recently. Bedtime depends on if they took that second nap, being 7pm or 8pm.
